Do rings come in the same size or are there different sizes available?
When you purchase a ring on JewelrySpring.com, you will be shown the size in which the ring is available. Ring sizing service can be done at any of your local jewelers. Note that certain metals such as tungsten and titanium cannot be sized. If you see a ring you love and it cannot be sized, drop us an email and we will see if we can source one for you!
What is the difference between white gold and platinum?
White gold is pure gold that is mixed with alloys to give it a white color. Platinum is pure metal that is naturally white and much more durable and stronger than white gold.
What colored gemstones are considered precious?
Rubies, sapphires and emeralds are precious gemstones. All other gemstones are referred to as semi-precious.
What is the difference between natural and lab-created stones?
Lab-created stones are formed in a controlled environment whereas natural gemstones are formed by mother nature's natural processes. Both share the same physical, chemical and visual properties. The lab produced stone is usually free from major defects and can be structurally stronger than its natural counterpart while also achieving optimum color.
Is it safe to buy jewelry and gemstones over the internet?
In a word: Yes. People bank online, they transfer cash online, they even buy cars and airplanes online! Well, we use the same technology that the banks use to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of your information, so you can order a diamond (or pearl necklace or gold bracelet) without worrying about a thing. We ship our jewelry by highly trusted carriers like USPS, so the chances of anything happening to your prized package are super slim. Plus, all our shipments are fully insured.
Can you help me resize my ring?
Resizing rings is best done with your local jeweler so you get the exact right fit! For this reason, we do not resize rings.
Can you help me keep the jewelry a surprise?
We love surprises and we'd love to help you! First, the jewelry will ship from. First, you need to think about where you'd like the jewelry to be delivered. For some orders we require a signature. These requirements are for your protection, but we understand that they may interfere with your surprise. You can contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a delivery location (like an neighbor who's in on the surprise or your work place, etc.) that will keep the secret safe.
We can also possibly expedite your delivery for a special occasion, forgotten birthday (doh!) or missed anniversary (whoops!). Please don't hesitate to contact us at Jennifer@jewelryspring.com for any special requests.
Will I be liable for my jewelry order while it is being shipped?
Nope. We fully insure each order all the way to you. That means that when your order is in transit to you, shipment is always risk-free. For added security, it's our policy that a signature is required for all orders over $500, regardless of any signature waivers you may have with the carrier.
How do I place an order?

How do I cancel an order once it has been submitted?
Now why would you want to do that? But if you do, please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP to cancel an order. Please have your order number nearby.
We promise we'll try to stop the order from going through, but keep in mind that our order-fulfillment system is designed to get orders shipped and on their way to our customers as fast and as efficiently as possible. That means that even if you contact us immediately after you change your mind about your order, it might already be in the shipping process. If that happens, we can't change or cancel an order once its journey to you has begun. What are my payment options?
You've got a lot of choices. We use primarily Pay Pal, but Pay Pal will let you use Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express very easily.
Do you charge sales tax?
We charge sales tax on orders shipped to addresses within Georgia. Sales tax within Georgia may vary based on the final destination of the package.
What are my shipping options?
Right now we ship all of our orders USPS Priority Mail, which gets things there pretty darn fast. Please plan in advance though if it is around the holidays to ensure you receive the gift on time! If it is an emergency order (!) please contact us at email@example.com and we will make every effort to help you out!
How long does it take to receive my order?
We make every effort to get it to you as soon as possible! All items listed are in stock and are generally shipped within 48 hours (except weekends). Custom orders may take longer to process. We generally ship USPS Priority which will take 1-4 days depending on your location. We are located in Georgia, and so shipments to the west coast for example will take longer.
How long will a refund take?
You should receive your refund within three to four weeks, which takes into account the time required to ship to us, inspection and processing of your return at our facility, and processing of your refund by your credit card company. For more detailed information, please see our Refund Policy .

Of course! Simply indicate the two addresses during the ordering process. For your protection, be sure to let your credit card issuer know that you'll be using a shipping address other than your billing address.
What is the difference between a Karat and a Carat?
We get this one a lot! A karat (with a “k”) is the unit of measurement used to indicate the purity of gold (since gold is in fact a mixture of gold and other metals). Pure gold, for example, is 24-karat (24K), 18-karat gold is 75% pure, and so on. Carat (with a “c”) is a term used to measure the weight of a diamond, e.g. 1-carat, 2-carat, and so on. What do the markings on the back of my jewelry mean?
If your jewelry has a number and a 'K', this denotes its Karat amount, or the purity of the gold in the piece (gold is actually a mixture of gold and other metals). Visit our Jewelry Education section for a complete discussion of Jewelry Terms.
What do similar pieces of jewelry have such different prices?
For one, gold is sold by weight, and heavier pieces can be more costly than lighter ones. Designer jewelry also generally costs more, especially if it's a one-of-a-kind piece. Special finishes, such as matte or sandblasted, may also affect the cost of the piece.
What is the best way to care for my jewelry?
No dull jewelry!! Here are some tips on how to keep your jewelry sparkly and brilliant.
Diamonds and gemstones: Don't wear your gemstones while doing housework, yard work or any other kind of rough work. Even though some like diamond are extremely durable, a hard blow could chip them. Also, always keep your jewelry away from chlorine bleach.
The best way to clean your diamonds or gemstones is in a bowl of warm, sudsy water with a bit of any mild liquid detergent. Brush the pieces with a soft brush, then transfer them to a wire or tea strainer and rinse with warm water. Pat dry with a soft lint-free cloth. Ultrasonic jewelry cleaners also work quite well.
Gold: You can clean your gold jewelry in a bowl of warm, sudsy water with a bit of any mild liquid detergent. Brush the jewelry with a soft brush until you have created a lather around it. With the jewelry on a plastic or metal strainer, rinse off with warm water (be sure not to clean your jewelry over the drain!). Pat your jewelry dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Prevent Tarnish: Without a doubt, sterling silver, gold filled and bronze metals will oxidize and tarnish if it is exposed to air over time. You can purchase Anti-Tarnish Papers that you should place in your jewelry box to help prevent tarnish of your precious metals from many sellers on Amazon. Also, be careful as most gift boxes and fillings will not protect your jewelry from tarnishing.
Placing it in the Right Storage: Handmade jewelry tends to be delicate and will tangle if you just throw it in your jewelry box. We suggest that you place each jewelry piece in an airtight bag like a small ziploc bag with the end of the chains hanging out of the bag so the necklace or bracelet will not get tangled. As for earrings, we recommend that you place them back on the earring cards or an earring holder after wearing them so they will always be together. Also, save the plastic earring backings so they won’t fall of your ear when you wear them. And, never pile your jewelry in your jewelry box– they will tangle and scratch!
Eliminating Unwanted Exposure: Avoid contact of your jewelry with perfumes, chemicals, make up, hairspray, sea salt, pool water, etc. These items will cause the gemstones and metals to look dull and leave a film. Putting on your jewelry should be the last thing you do before heading out the door!
Careful Cleaning: When necessary, it is suggested that you use a silver polishing cloth to clean the metals. As for cleaning gemstones, it is best to use a soft damp cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and harsh jewelry chemical cleaners, as they will tend to ruin gemstones.

How do I know the right ring size?
When you purchase a ring, you will be shown the size in which the ring is available. As our rings are generally estate pieces, we do not stock multiple different sizes of the same ring but most rings can be resized by your jeweler.
You can determine your ring size easily. Measure around the finger on which the ring will be worn (in millimeters), then find the ring size closest to this measurement in the U.S. Ring Size Chart below.
The millimeter is the standard unit of measurement for jewelry. By using millimeters, we can provide you with the most accurate size for your ring. The following chart will give you an idea of how millimeters convert to inches:
